Joe Started Martial Arts at the age of seven, at a small club in Yeovil. He took many classes in Freestyle Kickboxing. Through his time at this club he entered small national tournaments, often bringing back a first place. Near the end of his time at this local club he reached his green belt in Freestyle Kickboxing and started training himself in Creative Weapons, specially Nunchakus. Then he decided to take martial arts more seriously and move to a competition based club, so he joined The London Predators coached by Curtis Page of the GBMAA. In this club he reached his black belt 1 st Dan. With the London Predators he travelled around the country competing on the main circuits bringing home trophies with his sister Ruth Hallett. Eventually he saw musical Forms, which he liked and started to compete in, starting from the bottom. Knowing nothing about this art, to being one of the top forms competitors in the country. Also during his time at the GBMAA he attended the Us Open, WKA world championships and WPKA world championships. In the WPKA he brought home his first world title, which proved not to be his last.

In 2004 Joe started training with Triple Wako world champion Ashley Beck and Ex Olympic Gymnast Brian Beck of the BMAA. Here he started to learn martial art tricks and developing his Musical open hand forms and weapons. Ever since he has progressed in tricks and forms becoming Wako British and World Champion and in 2005 took home the Wako World Cup Trophy from Italien Best Fighter competition.

In 2007 Joe went independant and began teaching jointly with his sister, Ruth, at their own full time martial arts school in Yeovil. Joe and Ruth teach Freestyle Kickboxing, Tricks, Kicks and Flips and Weapons. They currently have over 150 students. Alongside this, Joe is now a monthly columnist for Combat Magazine one of the leading martial arts magazine in the UK. And Joe has formed his own demonstration and forms team, Team Resurrection. As a team they have performed on Cage Rage 25 at Wembley Arena infront of a sold out crowd going live on Sky Sports 3, at Seni 08 in Excel London, EFMA 08 Disneyland Paris, Bodypower Expo NEC Birmingham and Ultimate Challenge UK the list goes on. Joe and his team training together can only go onwards and upwards towards their goal of becoming the Premiere Demonstration/Forms Team in the country.

Since becoming independant Joe has started his film career working on UK movies including Furor and Warrioress and music videos by D-Tox and Blackwater Productions.

So you better watch out for this young man he is going places!
